Reykjavik Street Food

  Following trip advisor reviews, we popped by for a late lunch. Husband and I had the lobster soup, whilst child opted for fish and chips. Look, it's okay. Nice pieces... read more of lobster in soup and fish and chips was fine, if not a little small. On the whole, I left thinking I'd just paid over 10 pound for a cup of soup (served in a plastic cup with a plastic spoon. Yes, you get a few free sweets, but cramped tables. Would not return.

Once we got seated the order was taken quickly and drinks brought within seconds. Food was cheap, tasty and filling! Staff are wonderful and got to speak to the owner tonight who is a lovely gentleman! There are free sweets on the table and after your meal your are given a free desert! Thank you for a wonderful meal and making my dream trip to Reykjavik a pleasurable one with fantastic food and hospitality!

  The restaurant is small but in the highstreet near the famous cathedral. Food is fresh, decent size and clean. The owner is very friendly and very good hospitality.

  Exceptional value, tasty bites, great staff. Steaming hot fish and chips were so moist and flaky! There is a reason this restaurant is rated #1 - well deserved!

  We ate here our first night in Reykjavik. Yummy soupy noodles with a kick. Not to bad price-wise considering how expensive the city it.

  Super delicious. The owner was very attentive and funny. Best lamb stew I had while I was there, and I think I had it in 5 places.

The young man who was waiting on has excellent customer service skills, made us feel welcome and is a credit to the restaurant.

Perfect portions - not too much or little and very friendly and chatty staff.
Highly recommend a visit - take away and walk to the seafront which is a few mins walk, or stay and chat. About 2k krona for the meal each. But this is Iceland and was comparable with other places.
