Had to figure out what... read more made it so special, since I had passed it a few times and it seemed unassuming. Right away when walking in you can tell this place had character- the owner was lively with a great sense of humor. I ordered chicken noodle soup and my fiance got fish and chips, and they delivered it to us upstairs. At first the fish and chips portions seemed small, but he told us it was free refills - on dinner! I never heard of such a thing but it was amazing! My fiance absolutely loved it and said he could have eaten this every day. Now I know you don't come to Iceland for their chicken noodle soup, but it was really good- spicy broth, delicious udon noodles and Asian veggies. The chicken itself was okay- didn't really have that hearty bite (it was thin) but like I said, it's not their specialty. They have a station with different sauces and also a chips spice for your fries. They gave us each a complimentary candy bar, which was unexpected and so nice. It's not much in the way of atmosphere, but it was very reasonable, tasty, generous and a feel good place 🙂 It only lost a star because of atmosphere and chicken quality.

I'd seen the reviews for this place online, hence the visit, and I wished we could have gone back more. My partner and I both had the fish and chips (when in Rome!) and the cod was done to perfection and was so fresh. Only a small menu selection but it's all part of the simplicity and ease of this place. Prices around what you'd pay in the UK. Would recommend!
