Reykjavik Street Food

  We ordered two soups at 2210 Icelandic dollars each! They came in a small paper cup the size of a small coffee. The seafood soup had no flavour and adding... read more salt did not help. It looked like something left over from a cooking process rather than a meal. I spotted one prawn and 3 dice-sized pieces of some unrecognisable fish. Overpriced and disgusting! The atmosphere felt like a bus station and the waiter kept dropping things on the wooden floor half scaring us. NEVER AGAIN!

  The soup was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend the lobster soup and the traditional meat soup. Service was spot on and friendly. 🙂

The seafood soup was... read more tasty but it came in a small cardboard container rather than the large bowl pictured on the menu - very deceptive. I would describe the portion as child sized. My husband ordered the fish stew. This came in an even smaller cardboard container & consisted simply of fish & mashed potatoes. No sign of any vegetables or other ingredients you would expect to find in a stew. It was also quite tasteless. Given our very negative experience it is difficult to understand how this place receives so many 5 star reviews. Very poor value indeed

  Excellent value and service! Little hidden gem. Tasty food, friendly staff and all at affordable prices! Traditional Icelandic meat soup was delicious by the way!
