Reykjavik Street Food

I just knew before I left that I had to get a taste of what was going on behind those cute yellow walls. Finally got the opportunity to try out the food on my last day, and it is safe to say that it was the best meal I had in Iceland!

I had the beef noodle soup ~ it was the perfect meal to warm up in the cold weather. The broth was perfectly flavored and the noodles had the best consistency!

The atmosphere was homey/welcoming and their customer service was superb. I'm pretty sure I met the owner who came by with chocolate bars for everyone. He was also a gem 🙂

Later on an older gentleman came to give us more chocolate and insisted we keep it knowing we had already gotten some. He went above and beyond with cleaning and even offered chocolate to those just walking by the shop. We ordered fish and chips which we really enjoyed! Would highly recommend this place to everyone!

Throughout our meal He and my partner had long conversations about English football whilst I was busy demolishing my meat soup. Honestly was the best soup I have ever tasted and the bread was also amazing. We were pleasantly surprised with our free dessert of a classic prince polo chocolate bar as well as the celebrations you could help yourself to on the table. To top it all off we were also given a free top up of an extra half bowl of soup and another roll. Such lovely people who could find common ground with anyone, amazing and delicious food, excellent service and little surprise delights that you weren’t expecting! We’re going back for lunch as we enjoyed it so much and very reasonably priced for Iceland!

The fish and chips was nice. (2050 ISK).
The lobster soup (2050 ISK) was nice too even though they give you about 4 shrimps in it (no lobster as far as I understood). The soup was a little spicy (good) but a bit too watery.
They have a nice corner with many different kinds of sauces, cutlery, napkins, drinking water and cups.
Restrooms and wifi available too.

The service was good too.

Placed my order for fish and chips which was then cooked... read more to order and served very promptly. Crunchy chips and very good fish. Cheapest place I had seen too. Great value for money- and I got a chocolate when I paid upon leaving.
