Reykjavik Street Food

  We stopped in here after a long day sightseeing and thought it would be quick and authentic Icelandic food . It's very basic which was ok and you help yourself... read more to cutlery etc which is also fine . My husband had the fish & chips , overcooked dry fish but great chips . I had the fish stew...soggy mash potatoes with 2 bits of fish and hard rye bread coated in butter . I was so disappointed as I was starving . On the plus side it was cheap but I would have rather have paid more for something decent ...maybe I just picked the wrong dish so be warned !

The owner was so friendly, greeting everyone as they came in, made jokes, made everyone feel so welcome. He even went around and passed out candy bars if we finished our meal. Thank you for the wonderful dinner. I will be stopping by again next time I’m in Reykjavik.

Drinks selection is very limited, but that’s not why you’d stop here. Not bad at all.
