I had the beef noodle soup,... read more and the noodles were almost like udon. They and the meat were very tender, and the spices blended deliciously. It was a lot spicier than I expected(I am not a spice fan at all), but it just tasted too good for me to stop. I was very thankful they had a free pitcher of water at hand. The manager(I'm assuming) was a hoot! He was extremely friendly and welcoming. He joked about the free candy he offered to the customers and was more than available for any questions about the restaurant and food. My travel companion remarked that he gave off the vibe of "a guy who already earned his fortune and is retired, but opened his own restaurant out of pure enjoyment of food and people", and I think that sums it up quite well. I will definitely return on my next trip to Iceland.

Patron filled up the water dispenser ( with vodka ) which was on tap. What’s not to like?

The vegetable soup... read more was big, hot and full of vegetables. Really nice people inside and there was a nice man who we had a talk with about what to do and see in Reykjavík. We got given a yummy Icelandic chocolate bar to go. I left my wallet there and in the morning, the really nice man delivered the wallet just before we flew out of Iceland. Thank you for the nice night!

The fish stew was very tasty served with rye bread. The soup was a little tough and there could have been more of it.
A nice touch was the chocolate bar on the house for dessert.
