Reykjavik Street Food

  Small but perfectly formed street food restaurant. I had the fish and chips which was nice and a good portion, the same for my friend who had the fish stew... read more and had lots of great things to say about it.
The others had the soups which while nice apparently not that filling for the price.

Self service water, simple menu. Tried fish and chips (fish looks dry), Icelandic fish strew (which is fine fish meat meshed with mashed potato), beef noodle soup (is not Vietnamese pho at all).

  After walking through a snowstorm we found this small (around 20 seats) and unassuming spot which is an absolute hidden gem, the staff were incredibly friendly and quickly showed us... read more to a seat at one of the benches that line the walls of this shop. We were quickly shown the menu which had a few items on and both selected the fish and chips but I also had to try the lobster soup, they arrived a few minutes later after we watched them cook it in the open kitchen. The fish and chips were excellent, it was some of the freshest fish you could ask for, a thick chunk of cod in breadcrumbs with thin fries which seemed to have a slight spice. But then came the lobster soup, amazing is the only word I could think after stepping out of the cold and tasting this spiced soup with chunks of lobster at the bottom.

If you are in Reykjavik just give it a go, inexpensive and superb!

Don’t miss it. You will eat fantastic and the prices and ok for Reykjavik.
